The MBN Brand Promise MBN seeks to fill a service gap in the needs of its target markets. Current social media and networks targeting Blacks tend to focus primarily on casual topics such as entertainment, dating, celebrity news and gossip. Although MBN recognizes this market is satisfying a consumer demand, MBN chooses to respond to the reliable data that indicates Blacks, especially those in MBN's target markets, feel largely ignored by mainstream media. They are looking for online resources that are consistent with more "serious pursuits" such as business, finance and health information. Current media is often perceived as treating them as part of a monolithic community with a one-dimensional view of their lives. MBN promises to be a platform by which individual expression and identity can be fostered, and cultural commonalities can be reaffirmed. In fact, MBN believes that "individual consciousness begins with social connections. SM " For this reason, MBN adopts a Venn diagram as part of its logo to represent the "set theory" underlying each individual's personal identity and social interactions. MBN also adopts the motto "Expanding Your Networks, Empowering Our Community. SM " If individual expression, respect and advancement are the "quid" for My Black Networks' existence, the "pro quo" is a stronger, more empowered community that can and will benefit from organized cooperation in an increasingly interdependent world. A stronger community results in a greater capacity to support individuals and vice versa. |
